The English and American Studies Institute, together with the Office of Scientific and International Affairs of the University of Pannonia and the American Corner, Eötvös Károly County Library as well as the English Committee of the Regional Branch of the Academy of Sciences in Veszprém since 2008 have organized the traditional America Week launched at the initiative of then guest Fulbright Professor, Dr. Scott Campbell (Nazareth College, Rochester, NY, USA).

The event, organized annually in April, is dedicated to the study of American culture and the strengthening of Hungarian-American ties.

The present compilation (supplemented by slideshows) gathers papers presented from 2008 to 2010 in areas of diplomacy, history, civilization, arts, literature, linguistics, language policy, pedagogy, environment, politics, economics, philosophy and law.
